The Institute of Employment Rights has launched its new podcast, Working Life, a series exploring the major legal and policy issues shaping work and employment rights today. Hosted by leading experts and commentators, the podcast examines the latest developments in labour law and what they mean for workers, trade unions and policymakers.

You can watch the full episode on our YouTube channel, and below we’ve selected two short clips highlighting key moments from the discussion. The first looks at the omission of a single-worker status, originally proposed in the Green Paper A New Deal for Working People. The second examines the shortcomings in the collective bargaining provisions of the Act, including the absence of a clear mechanism for extending agreements and the broader lack of a framework for effective sectoral collective bargaining.
