In a briefing originally provided for Shadow Secretary of State for Employment Rights, Andy McDonald, Lord John Hendy QC details the health and safety legislation that is relevant to workers during the Coronavirus crisis.
He points out that this legislation is not referred to in the government’s own guidance and that government messaging has not emphasised the criminal liability of employers if they breach laws designed to protect the welfare of their staff.
