The topic of fair pay agreements has become more pronounced in the UK during recent times, mainly due to the UK Labour Party committing to a trial of fair pay agreements in social care.

We thought it would be useful to reflect on how fair pay agreements may have been implemented elsewhere, and hopefully learn what the pitfalls and possibilities are. So we reached out to Michael Wood, former New Zealand Labour Party Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety, who kindly made the time to tell us more about New Zealand’s recent experiences with Fair Pay Agreements.

Joining this discussion is our Chairperson Lord John Hendy KC, our Senior Vice President Carolyn Jones, and our Acting Director James Harrison.
