Regency Suite, The Old Ship Hotel, Brighton, BN1 1NR

About this event

Carolyn and her family were aware of the value of trade unions and access to justice, as her father Bill Jones was an illegally blacklisted construction worker. Carolyn worked hard in community campaigns and the trade union movement, and was eventually head hunted to be the Director of the Institute of Employment Rights (IER) by Ken Gill, General Secretary of TASS. Cad oversaw the crucial work of the IER for over 30 years, and worked tirelessly to make the vision of the IER’s Executive Committee a reality.

Carolyn retired from the Directorship of the Institute at the end of 2021, but she still plays a vital guiding role as our Senior Vice President.

This social is to celebrate all Cad’s hard work, and to celebrate women making it to the top in the trade union movement. There will be a short presentation at the start. A buffet will be provided. The MIB band will be playing us out until the early hours too, so we can dance the night away. Come and join in the fun!

The social has been put together by the IER and the GFTU, and has been kindly sponsored by Morrish Solicitors and Old Square Chambers.
