Responding to a call for evidence from the Ministry of Justice on the General Observations of the United Nations’ International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), Daniel Blackburn highlights the myriad ways in which the UK is breaching international law.

In particular, he focuses on freedom of association and trade union rights, with which the UK is non-compliant due to its anti-trade union legislation, weak protections against blacklisting, and the recent – potentially ongoing – infiltration of law-abiding workers’ organisations by the secret service.
