Legal experts have found much to comment on in this 2011 review of labour law. The authors tease out the implications of cases involving the minimum wage, health and safety, whistleblowing, working time regulations, TUPE and all aspects of discrimination law.

The annual tribunal statistics for 2010 indicate an 8% fall in the number of claims presented, but given the 56% increase the previous year, the drop is small in comparison. The dispoal of claims – whether through case management, strike out time or time limits – are up by 9%, yet some claims continue to rise, particularly age discrimination cases, which have increased by a huge 32%.
