Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will speak at a meeting hosted by the Institute of Employment Rights at the Durham Miners’ Gala this Friday (08 July 2016), at which IER President Professor Keith Ewing and Chair John Hendy QC will discuss our proposals for the next Labour government.

The free event, which is jointly organised by the Campaign for Trade Union Freedoms, will take place in the Bowes Room of Durham Marriott Hotel between 18:00 and 21:00.

Among the proposals put forward by the IER are the reinstatement of a Ministry of Labour, the reinstatement of sectoral collective bargaining across the economy and the repeal of the Trades Union Act.

Also speaking on Friday are Secretary of the Durham Miners’ Association Davey Hopper and President of Los Mineros from Mexico – Metal and Mineworkers Napoleon Gomez.

Our Manifesto of Labour Law was launched on 28 June at Westminster where it gained the support of Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell and Shadow Minister for Trade Unions Ian Lavery.
