Labour Lord, John Hendy – also Chair of the Institute of Employment Rights – will speak to a Labour Party fringe on Monday, 9th October, entitled ‘What would a Labour government mean for workers’ rights?’. The meeting, organised jointly by the Trade Union Co-ordinating Group and Labourlist, will be held on Monday lunchtime, between 12.30 and 1.30pm, in the Liverpool ACC.

Lord Hendy, as Chair of the IER, played a major role in developing the employment rights policies in the previous two Labour Manifestos, for the 2017 and 2019 General Elections, as well as advising former Shadow Secretaries of State for Employment Rights, Laura Pidcock and Andy McDonald. The New Deal for Working People was developed alongside Andy McDonald and his team, with the 2017/2019 policies on employment rights largely intact.

The meeting will discuss where the current state of play is on workers’ rights and what we can expect from a Starmer-led government.
